IMPORTANT: Boundless (eRead Illinois) Announcement

Hello Erikson Community,

Due to the recent and abrupt closure of the book distributor, Baker & Taylor, the Boundless app that hosts the eRead Illinois collection is being discontinued. eRead Illinois are moving quickly to ensure minimal interruption to your use of the eRead Illinois collection.

In the coming weeks, the entire eRead Illinois collection will be migrated to a new, sustainable platform: the Palace Project app. Please view the timeline below for more information on service disruptions and the new app launch dates. We apologize for the inconvenience to your reading schedules and habits, and reach to us at libraryhelp@erikson.edu if you have any questions!

What to Expect Date Details
Holds Temporarily Suspended Effective Immediately Users are no longer able to place new holds on the Boundless App.
Existing Holds and Checkout History Will Not Transfer Effective Immediately Please note that any outstanding holds and checkout history in the Boundless app will not transfer to The Palace Project app. We recommend making a separate list of any pending titles you are requesting.
Last Day for Checkout Sunday, November 2 This is the final day you can check out any items in the Boundless App.
Boundless App Defunct Monday, November 17 The Boundless app will stop functioning and be fully retired.
Content Transfer Begins Monday, November 17 eRead Illinois content will begin transitioning to The Palace Project app.
Palace Project App Launch Tuesday, December 2 The new Palace Project app will be available for you to download, log in, and enjoy the the eRead Illinois collection again.

eBooks

Electronic books, also known as eBooks, are online versions of books. eBooks are: 

  • Easier to navigate 
    You can switch to different sections and search for specific words with a few clicks. 

  • Accessible 
    No visit to the library required! 

  • Compatible with various devices 
    You can read eBooks from your internet browser or from a specific eReader software such as Adobe Digital Editions.

Finding eBooks

The Library has access to over 200,000 eBooks through several providers. Many of our eBooks are included in our online catalog, which you can search here. 

You can also search directly at the eBook provider's site.
