General Borrowing Policies

Effective April 1, 2024

  • Renewals will be automatic and you will receive an email notification for each renewal.
  • Renewals are not allowed if another user has placed a hold on the item.
  • Dissertations are loaned on a case-by-case basis.
  • Interlibrary Loan durations and renewals are determined by the lending institution.
  • The Library reserves the right to recall materials if needed for course reserves.
  • Library users are not allowed to check out items if there is an overdue item on their account.
  • All library notices are emailed to a borrower's Erikson email address, or for alumni, the address provided on their borrowing account application.

Long Overdue and Lost Material

Effective July 15, 2024, once an item is 30 days overdue, it will be considered lost, and the borrower will be charged the cost to replace the item.

Damaged Material

In the event of damage to library materials, the Library may bill the library user for the replacement cost of the material or accept an identical replacement copy.
