A Library Resources Update!

Thanks to the Illinois State Library, scholarly sources (including eBooks) offered through the EBSCO database have greatly expanded.

In addition to a larger collection, the EBSCO interface has gotten a make-over, making it easier to navigate and find what you are looking for. Check out the new and improved site, and reach out to us if you have any questions.

Want to learn about everything that is new through EBSCO, in our collections? Head over to our A - Z Databases List, click on "All Subjects", filter to "Provided by ISL", and peruse away! *All databases should log you in with single sign-on (SSO), otherwise you will be prompted to log in with your Erikson credentials.

  Organized into targeted learning centers, LearningExpress Library Complete supports those looking to improve core academic skills, pass a high school equivalency test, prepare for college, explore careers, study for occupational certification tests, become a U.S. citizen and much more.
- What's included?
  Learning centers contain practice tests, interactive tutorials, microlessons, e-books, articles and flashcards. Particularly noteworthy are resources for graduate school admissions exam prep (i.e. GRE, GMAT, LSAT) and the Resume Builder. Download the app for Android and iPhone devices for on-the-go access!

  Alt Healthwatch is an alternative health research database focused on complimentary, holistic, and integrated approaches to healthcare and wellness. Offers the latest information about the evolving practice of holistic medicine and therapies.

What's included? It contains a large number of journals, the majority of which are peer-reviewed, from almost any subject. This resource features mostly full text content from over 7,850 journals, and goes as far back as 1865.

This bibliographic database is a source for references to the current and historical literature related to growth and development of children from infancy to age twenty-one. What's included? An index of research, policy, and practice literature in the fields of family science, human ecology, human development, and social welfare. The database has an international perspective with citations drawn from a wide range of social science disciplines. What's included? Document types indexed include journal articles, books, book chapters, conference papers, discussion materials, government reports, statistical documents, theses and dissertations, and working papers.

It provides scholarly and popular LGBTQ+ publications in full text, plus historically important primary sources, including monographs, magazines, newspapers, and videos. What's included? In addition, a collection of 200 videos from the nonprofit organization "I’m From Driftwood" provides first-person accounts from those in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community.
